Bob Moran Mows Down All-Star Field

Updated: Aug 23, 2019

Under a clear blue sunny sky was the first race for the all stars at New England Dragway on July 21st. Forty two dedicated class racers showed up to do battle. The third round began with Tim Stickles; '80 M/SA Malibu defeating Scott Gove's nice '69 A/SA Camaro in a double breakout affair 12.15 (12.16 dial) to a losing 9.94 (9.96 dial) for Gove. Brandon Karaguezian's N/SA '82 Malibu wagon held off John Gray's A/SA '69 Camaro 12.54 to a break-out 9.96 (9.99) from Gray. Gary Parker's dead-on 10.83 from his '74 Corvette G/SA forced Steve Rehm to a 10.14 (10.16) break-out from his '69 AA/SA Camaro. Bob Moran's 10.19 from his B/SA '69 Camaro emerged victorious over a red-lighting 11.13 from Pete Foster's '67 E/SA Camaro. Dean Rebeiro used a dead-on 10.71 from his '98 Camaro to dispatch Woody Pagano's red light start from his '70 B/SA Nova. Bob Bruneau's .001 intiated 9.07 had the bye.

Quarter-Finals began with a pari of Malibus. Brandon Karaguezian's 12.53 from his N/SA wagon got the best of Tim Stickles 12.13 from his M/SA coupe. Gary Parker's red light sent Bob Bruneau's SS/TA to the semi-finals with a 9.06 to 10.79 count. Bob Moran's 10.47 was enough when dean Ribeiro encountered mechanical problems.

Semi-finals had Bob Moran with the bye. In the other match-up Brandon Karaguezian's 12.51 (12.46) from his '82 N/SA Malibu would hold off Bob Bruneau's 9.08 (9.02) from his 2000 S-10 SS/TA.

In the final Bob Moran's dial matching 10.19 took the measure of Brandon Karaguezian's who broke out with a game 12.44 (12.46) effort.
